SERVICE FACTORS

Howley Engineering has over 25 years experience in the provision of industrial gearboxes in a wide range of heavy industries including steel, sugar, rubber and cement manufacture, mining and offshore activities.

Whether you are looking for a gearbox for a completely new application or are looking to replace or upgrade an existing unit, then Howley Engineering has the experience to ensure the optimum choice in terms of performance, cost, efficiency and long term reliability.

Our skills and experience allow us to assist a customer in not only selecting the most appropriate gearbox for their application, but then planning all aspects of its installation from specification of site groundwork requirements through to in-situ proving prior to going live.

In many cases the use of standard gearboxes from a carefully selected manufacturer allows a project to be completed rapidly and cost effectively. We have been appointed UK agent for leading Spanish gearbox manufacturer Guibe, and a summary of their range of gearboxes is available via the link to the right.

Where an off-the-shelf solution is not the optimum, then Howley Engineering has the necessary skills to either modify an existing unit or design and manufacture from scratch to ensure peak performance, minimise maintenance and maximise useful life.

Howley Engineering has a number of multi-skilled engineers and supervisors capable of installing and subsequently maintaining industrial gearboxes. Our objective is always to provide a quality service at a competitive price.

Gear Unit Types

Gear units installed by Howley Engineering include Plain Spur, Helical, Bevel/Helical, Planetary and Worm.

We have also designed and manufactured linear motion exciter gear units for use with vibration screens, which employ heavy duty bearings and gears to cope with the exceptionally high stresses introduced by the oscillatory nature of the application.
